Since young, watching 'Japan Hour' on every Sunday
is always one favourite pastime of mine. During the 1-hour programme, I
came across this pen brand - Namiki, which in terms of branding, is equivalent to a
Patek Philippe
watch. The exquisite art on the pens really fascinated me at that time and
I long to write with one when I have the means to.
Today, not only I learnt that Maki-e technique is
used on those Namiki pens, I've also started to collect pens of various
brands, mainly limited
editions. Since pens collecting in
Singapore is still at its infant stage, hence, as an amateur collector with limited resources, I need to exercise
prudence in getting pens of fineness and value. This venture has provided me
an opportunity to acquaint with many overseas pens
enthusiasts as well.
Sharing experiences and exchanging knowledge with
people of similar interest (or would like to start the hobby) from all over the
world are my objectives in setting up this website - The Scribes Chamber.
Most importantly, I hope to combine both passion and livelihood one day...
Really dislike running the rat race!!
With my usual sincerity, I would like to
invite you, my friend, to visit my humble website 'The Scribes Chamber'.
Besides showcasing some of my personal collections, there are a few consigned
pieces too. If you are interested in any of these pens, do feel free to
drop me inquiries at tsc@thescribeschamber.com.
I'll try my best to answer your queries as soon as I could. Btw, I'm Chow.
